It uses a single wavelength of light to heat up melanin till the roots are destroyed which gives you the ULTRASMOOTH™ results unlike traditional IPL which uses a broad spectrum of light with multiple wavelengths which increases the risk of side effects such as burns / pigmentation, making traditional methods unsuitable for dark skin tones.
